We both have retired from the telephony industry and are currently living in Dade City, FL which is on the
west coast of the state just north of Tampa. This area is known for the rolling hills, small towns with
friendly attitudes and the biggest love bugs in the world. The area is rapidly losing its small rural image
due to the dramatic increase in new construction. The hurricanes blow down the buildings and we just
keep building newer and bigger buildings. Florida, where the official state symbol is the construction
barricade and roads are outdated even before they are open to traffic; where we have to park our cars in
the driveway because the garage is filled with forty gallons of gasoline, a standby generator and enough
hurricane emergency supplies to stock a good sized convenience store. We also have to deal with the
fall immigration of "birds", but don't get me started on that one. It's a great place to live, that's why we
moved back here from North Carolina in 1997.
We are not professional photographers by any stretch of the imagination but we enjoy using our
cameras, all of the nifty computers, printers and digital imaging software that are available. Besides,
digital photography is fun and you don't have to keep paying the drug store all that money to develop
film that usually has only one really good picture on the roll. Our equipment includes Sony and Canon
DSLR cameras (Rebel XTi and Canon 50D) HP and Epson printers, an Epson flat bed scanner, Windows
based computers and two soon to be obsolete Macintosh computers. We use, for the most part, Adobe
Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 to correct and enhance our photos and Photoshop Elements to manipulate
the photos using skills we have learned in on-line classes from the Eclectic Academy with Sara Froehlich
as the instructor. If you are interested in taking on-line classes to improve your skills, click on her name
above to go to her web site. The classes are very reasonable, very, very helpful and loads of fun and
Sara is one of the best in the field. We also use Adobe Lightroom to catalog and make some adjustments
to the photos.
In addition to just plain having fun with digital photography we maintain the web site for a business in
Dade City, where Marie works. Marie has taken all of the photos on the site and I have the responsibility
of making them presentable for the web. We also like to cruise with a group of our friends every year and
we have some photos posted on the Cruisin' page. On occasion we enjoy a good session of video poker
at the casinos in Mississippi and aboard the cruise ships, even Vegas once in a great while. As founder
and past president of the Florida Mayonnaise Growers Association, I maintain a monthly newsletter for
the organization. (I just put that part in to see if anyone really reads all of this nonsense. On one of my
other web sites I mention the FMGA on the home page but have only had two comments on it in the past
year and a half.)
I know that this page is on the verge of becoming "wordy" so I will end it now. At least I gave you some
nice music to listen to.

Who we are....What we do....Why we do it....
